Venus Williams outlasted her dress in a recent exhibition in Milan, Italy. The tennis great was in the middle of play when her one of the two straps holding up her dress grew fatigued and gave way. Were it not for the quick reflexes of this finely tuned athlete, the Milan crowd would have seen much more than they bargained for. As it is, they got to see an amused and slightly embarrassed Williams walking off the court with her hands doing the job that was vacated by her strap. It is interesting to note that Venus, who has her own clothing line and designs her own outfits, should have this kind of mishap in the fashion minded Milan. It is hard telling what kind of buzz this will give her clothing line. The progressive city may find that outfits with time-bomb straps are bold and cutting edge. A sense of risk that says "I am confident and carefree enough to wear an outfit that may expose my breast at any moment. Then again, they may just think the outfits are awful.
During the U. Open in New York, French tennis player Alize Cornet received a violation for fixing her shirt while she was still on the court. During the match, players were allowed a ten-minute break to cool down. When she returned to the court, she realized that her shirt was on backwards and took it off to fix it. Keep in mind, she had a sports bra on underneath.
I clearly stated twice that I severed things with the girl. But realistically, if she is not open minded enough to even listen to someone who has a contrasting view of the church - how will she not continually discount you and your lack of beliefs. Because what are Mormons about. It started making me feel very nervous and apprehensive at the thought of having a family, and having all of his time be consumed by his work. I will keep reading, but it looks like most of the stuff about racism and polygamy has been "adequately" explained away by updates to LDS. Who knows, maybe a little lighthearted texting is just the 5 minute break he needs. All those are reasons to give the church some elbow room but they are not reasons for actually staying.
I don't think I could let that happen. If you are an atheist or a non-believer, then let your date know, and politely decline the invitation. For me this has been an opportunity to increase my love, tolerance, compassion and acceptance. My wife is living proof that they CAN be worth it. I am deeply hurt and am a very lonely doctor's wife. For whatever reason, none of them ever seemed that interested in me I freely admit this could have been cluelessness on my partand so never turned serious.
